What a great first 1/2 term, well done to everyone for adapting to school life so well. Thank you for sending in your leaves for our 'Tremendous Achievement Tree' the colours have changed as autumn progresses, they will fall off our tree to be saved in your child's learning journey. We have enjoyed our class text 'Wanda's First Day' it has really inspired the children's learning, see photos in the gallery.

We have chosen our class name - Reception Rainbows.

We have been in school for a full week (and a half). The children are settling well (see photographs in the gallery) and are so keen to come into class in the mornings. Thank you for your support with encouraging them to come in independently.

Looking forward to seeing you at the curriculum meeting on Tuesday 16th September at 3:30 or 6pm.

September 2014

Dear Parents/Carers,

It was lovely to see you all at the Transition days in the summer term. I hope you feel it has helped with the preparation for your child’s first days at school.

I am sure the children are excited about starting school. I am looking forward to seeing them dressed in their new uniforms, eager to explore their new learning environment. We have lots of exciting activities planned to engage them in their learning.
Don’t forget to visit the web site. I will be updating the class page and gallery where you will see photographs of your children engaged in learning activities.

Our theme for this term is ‘Once upon a Time’ with the first topic relating to starting school called ‘All about Me’. The curriculum information for this term is in the Curriculum Information section.

The school routine may be new to some families, I hope the ‘Welcome to Reception’ leaflet is useful (sent in the induction pack). Please ask if you are unsure about anything.
On Tuesday 16th September we shall be holding a curriculum meeting, a separate letter will be sent out to you with more details.

The Early years team, Mrs Insull, Mr Chesters and myself are looking forward to working with you and your children this year.

Mrs Howe.

Reception Class Teacher.
