Computing at Parkside
Computing is now, more than ever, at the forefront of modern life and education. At Parkside we are continually striving to ensure that the children are provided with rich and purposeful opportunities so that they are equipped with the ICT skills demanded by the technological world in which they are growing up in.
Interactive white boards are in every classroom and are used by staff and children. We have recently updated our ICT equipment to include wireless connections throughout school linking pupil laptops to the school’s network and to provide safely filtered internet access, the school also offers an ICT suite with 15 desktop machines. In addition we provide a wealth of other materials to develop children’s programming skills. These include digital and video cameras, remote control cars, Bee Bots, ProBots, and online programs such as scratch and logo.
E-Safety is of paramount importance in our school, our E-Safety curriculum is delivered through digital literacy and citizenship and PSHE sessions.
