Thursday 26th November
The Maths and PaG homework is for everyone. The homophone sheet (their, there and they're) is only for a few children (and they know who they are).
Thursday 5th November
As the children have been busy learning lines for their Laches Wood Assembly (Friday 6th at 1.30pm) I will not be setting any additional homework with this week. However, they do know that they need to be thinking about what their Hunger Games Diorama (Parent project Monday 16th November) is going to depict as they will be planning this in class next week. I would appreciate your support with encouraging them to do this! Can I please remind you that many of the children have still not brought in a shoe box which they need for the casing of their diorama!
They have made a fantastic return to school and I know that they are really looking forward to putting on their assembly for you this Friday afternoon!
Many thanks for your continued support.
Thursday 15th October
As we are off to Laches Wood on Monday, I will not be setting homework today. I think it is really important that the children get as much rest as they can over the weekend as the week away will no doubt prove to be exhausting for them - great fun but exhausting. However I shall be sending your child home with a maths test paper to work through during the half-term holiday. At this stage I am more than happy for you to support your child with any questions that they are struggling with. Please bear in mind that we are still relatively early in the school year and there will inevitably be things on the paper that we have not yet covered in Year Six - so your help will be only beneficial to your child. Your child is also expected to read regularly during this week as well as practising any target times tables which they may have (as discussed at parents evening).
With regard to Laches Wood I look forward to seeing you and your child on Monday morning between 8.45am and 8.55am in the school hall. Their pocket money (maximum £8.00) needs to be handed to one of the four members of staff in the hall. It needs to be in a labelled purse, wallet or money bag. Any medication also needs to be handed in to a member of staff. As there is no food allowed in the dormitories at Laches Wood please do not send your child with any as it will be left in school before we depart. Electricals of any kind (including phones and cameras) are not allowed. I will provide the children with a disc of lots and lots of photos during the second half of the Autumn Term.
I know that we will have a fantastic week and we will be having our Laches Wood Assembly on Friday 6th November at 2pm when we shall share our week with you. I hope that you are able to join us for this!
Many thanks for your continued support
