Welcome to Little Explorers 3 and 4 and 2 and 3 year old provision.
Welcome back after what I hope has been a wonderful summer; we are excited about the term ahead of us and look forward to working with you and your children.
It is really important to us that your child has a smooth transition into nursery, whilst we welcome you into nursery in the morning it is of vital importance that you encourage your child to become independent, showing them how to hang their coat up and put their lunch boxes away and water bottle away.
The children will begin to bring a library book home with them on a weekly basis for you to share with them. We ask that it is left in their bags so that it can be changed when they visit the school library. We will also begin to learn the letter sounds, we will let you know what letter sound your child is learning and ask that you can support your child at home by looking for the letter sound in books, practising writing it and by saying the letter sound.
This term in Nursery you will find our ‘Care to Learn display’, we will be giving out stars for you to record any ‘wow moments’ that your child has at home. We can then share these in Nursery and hang them on the display, these will then be put into your child’s learning journey.
Children will continue to be rewarded for displaying good attitudes to learning as well as to each other. We will continue to fully embrace our school motto of 'Care to Learn and Learn to Care' along with our class charter which we developed together with the children.
I hope that you find this information useful. Please do not hesitate to come and talk to us if you have any questions or concerns, our door is always open. We look forward to working with you this year and seeing the children flourish.
