Our Journey

September 2017
The children have had a great start to their first term in school. They are settling in to the new routines well.
Today they have brought a reading book home. Please read daily with your child. They can change their books on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please place the book inside their reading diary and place them in the box on the class trolley. If you need any advice please call in to see us, our door is always open. Thank you for your support.
Mrs Howe and Miss Bayfield.

Friday 22nd September
We are so proud of the children, they are coming into school so well. Today they will be bringing home some homework, which will support the work we have been doing in class. Please check your child's book bag and/or the Homework section on the web site.
Next week we shall be having our launch day on Friday 29th September, please see letter sent out this week.

Friday 29th September - LAUNCH DAY
What a fantastic day we had to launch our topic 'Once Upon a Time - Traditional Stories'.
Thank you parents for your support. The children looked fabulous in their outfits, they proudly stood up at the front of the celebration
assembly in front of the whole school and parents.
We had 'The broken egg' crime scene and investigation trail and objects to explore from possible story characters.
Have a look in the Autumn photographs section.

Friday 20th October
What a busy few weeks we have had. In our literacy the Gingerbread man went missing. Have you seen him? The children made posters to inform the rest of the school that he had gone. They were concerned that he had been eaten by a fox! What wonderful imaginations.

The children have shown great progress in their phonics this half term; this is evident in the increase of choice reading.

In numeracy the children have been looking at shapes, learning about the similarities and differences between them. Then the children have learnt positional language in both their adult focused numeracy and independent outdoor play.

Have a lovely week enjoying the wonderful Autumn weather. Thank you for your support

Thursday 7th December - Fabulous Finish, Trip to Telford Wonderland
What a fantastic day we had. We revisited characters from the traditional tales we have been reading and even went into the Gingerbread house. We met Mrs Christmas, the elves and of course Father Christmas and Rudolf. The children loved the rides and the winter area.
