Welcome back after what we hope has been a restful break; we are excited about the term ahead of us and look forward to working with you and your children. It is really important to us that your child has a smooth transition into school, whilst we welcome you into school in the morning it is of vital importance that you encourage your child to become independent, expecting them to hang their coat up and put their book bags in the box. As soon as your child feels they are ready to come in independently please allow them to do this.
The children will begin to receive weekly homework on a Friday. They will all have one piece of Literacy or Numeracy homework per week. All children are expected to read and practise the high frequency words on a daily basis. It is imperative that all homework is completed– parents, your support in this is very much needed to work with your child to support their education. We would also like to invite you one morning a week to come and work alongside your child on their next step target, more information on this will follow in the forthcoming weeks.
Children will be rewarded for displaying good attitudes to learning as well as to each other. We will learn all about our school motto of 'Care to Learn and Learn to Care' along with our class charter which we developed as a class. Please help us to uphold our motto with your child at home and around school when you are with them.
We hope that you find this information useful. Please do not hesitate to come and talk to us if you have any questions or concerns, our door is always open.
We look forward to working with you this year and seeing your children flourish.
