Classroom Activities

Launch Afternoon - Wednesday 8th January 2015
Year Five experienced what it would have been like in a Victorian classroom. They lined up in silence, boy, gilr and handed their pretend penny to me before entering the classroom. They were taught handwriting, arithmetic and drills and all had to write right handed. They were all fantastic and enjoyed the experience although most said that they prefer the schooling that they have today! Their reflections on the launch afternoon were excellent too.
Please see the pictures below or come in and look at our topic display in the classroom.
Camptown Races Compostions ( Music ) Thursday 5th February 2015

Year Five are a very creative class. On Thursday they learnt the Victorian Music Hall song Camptown Races They then chose a sport and composed their own version. Some of the sports that they chose were marathon running, the Olympics, female football, female boxing and skipping. They then chose their own instruments and performed their compositions to the class. I was very impressed!

Please see the pictures below of them performing their compositions.

Friday 27th February 2015 - Creating a Victorian Board Game

Year Five have designed, created and evaluated their Victorian board games today. They were fantastic in how they created their board games and supported each other when the need arose. They were very organised in the resources and equipment that they had brought in and were enthusiastic in their approach. It was a superb morning. Thank you for your continued support and please look at the pictures below.
