Friday 15th May

Todays activity is from Mrs Insull and it is all about phonics and can be done in the house or garden You will need a piece of A4 paper ripped in half and you will need one half for each letter sound you choose. The letters we suggest you start with are ' s a t i n m o p ' as these are ones we have focussed on in Nursery, thought you may feel your child knows others too, that's fine. One letter sound is written on a half of A4, quite big (no capitals)  so your child can see it from across the room/ garden. When you have at least 4 letter sounds around the room (you may want more) you are ready. The adult calls a letter sound and the child has to run to that letter. It may sound easy, but your child will have to visualise the sound/ letter in their head all by themselves. You could even get your child to go around the house finding objects for each sound too. Have fun!
