Today we are going to play phonics bingo but slightly different to normal. So you will need some paper and split it into 8 writing 1 sound in each box, but your child could have a go at writing the sounds in them selves. You will then say a sound and if the children have that sound they are going to put a red finger print (or draw it in )next to the sound. Once this is dry they can add black spots to turn it into a ladybird. Please see the picture below. There are many ways to adjust this game to suit, the objective is helping your child remember their phonic sounds both visually (when they can see them) and recalling them from their memory ( when they have to rely on their memory). They can also have a turn at being the 'teacher' they call the sounds and you pretend to be learning them, the children love doing this. We have only included the sounds
s a t i m o p as they are the ones covered in Nursery, but feel free to add more if your child is more confident.
