Look at the picture below. What can you see in the picture? How many big fish can you see? How many small fish? How many fish altogether? I spy a group of 3 and a group of 2. What am I looking at?
If you added 1 more to a group of 5 how many would you have?
If you took 1 away from a group of 7 how many would you have?
Please watch the video below and have a look at the activity.
Can you have a look at this picture and combine the numbers on both sides of the domino?
We would like you to use one of the methods below to combine two groups.
Can you use a number line to figure out how many dots are on the dominoes? Please see example below. Can you write the number sentence to match each domino?
Perhaps you could count the dots on the first side of the domino and put that number in your head. Then count on from this number using your fingers.
I am going to put 5 in my head because there are five dots on the first side- now I am going to count on three more because there are 4 dots on the other side- 6,7,8.. There are 8 dots altogether!
Can you write these sentences independently? Remember to use your tricky word and phonics mat. Any words in yellow can be copied because they are unfamiliar with the sound.

Can you sit on a chair?
