Spellings
Maths
One of the Year Six Expected maths outcomes is to have a secure recall of certain fraction families and their equivalent decimals and percentages. We have spent a lot of time practising these in class but I have attached the sheet with all those on that you need to know. You will be tested on your recall of these next Monday. Just like times tables, having a secure recall of these will help you in many areas of maths over the rest of this year and in to secondary school.
Monday 13th November
Use Spellodrome to practise this week's spellings - with a minimum total target time of 30 minutes over Monday to Thursday - in addition to practising writing them out in your 'Spelling Book' ready for Friday morning's spelling test. Remember- if you are struggling to get all of your minutes in, you now have some dedicated 'Spellodrome' time in school during your lunchtimes (or for a few of you, during 'Spelling' time in class. If this homework is not completed, you will be expected to make up the time - during your lunchtimes and playtimes - the following week.
Thursday 9th November
The maths sheet below (Order of Operations) uses BIDMAS which you have been taught this week. This needs to be completed for next Monday.
Thursday 2nd November
Complete this sheet by Monday 6th November.
Monday 31st October
This week's spellings (adding suffixes to words ending in 'fer') do not feature in the Spellodrome database and therefore your child will need to practise them in their Spelling Books (using their preferred method). However, as spelling is on-going it is still good use of their time to spend a short time each day on Spellodrome practising the Y5/6 word lists and the SATs word lists. The target time to spend, as usual, is 30 minutes by Friday morning.
Monday 16th October
Friday 19th October
During your half-term break, I want you to complete a reading paper to the very best of your ability. Please only answer the questions which are highlighted. It is important that this is completed independently, without the help from any adults at home.
Thursday 5th October
There will be no homework set this Thursday because we are away at camp next week and won't be able to go through it on Monday morning as we usually do!
