Literacy

Week Beginning 29th March:

This week we shall be revisiting different spelling rules. We shall be looking at homophones and silent letters. There are two lessons for each. 

Week Beginning 22nd March:

This week we shall be exploring character using different drama techniques. 

Week Beginning 15th March:

We shall be revisiting some punctuation outcomes for this week's learning.

Week Beginning 8th March:

We shall be revisiting some grammar outcomes for this week's learning. 

Week Beginning 22nd February and 1st March:

We shall be revisiting biographical writing and focusing on inspirational figures. There are ten lessons which will take two weeks to complete. Please use the knowledge that you learnt before half term. 

Week Beginning 8th February:

This week we shall be focusing on lessons 21 - 25 based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.  

Week Beginning 1st February:

This week we shall be focusing on lessons 16 - 20 based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.  

Week Beginning 25th January:

This week we shall be focusing on lessons 11 - 15 based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.  

Week Beginning 18th January:

This week we shall be focusing on lessons 6 - 10 based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.  

Week Beginning 11th January:

This week we shall be focusing on a different text which is also set during the Victorian period called Oliver Twist. How is this text similar and different to Street Child?

Please complete the first five lessons this week.  

Week Beginning 4th January:

This week is a reading focus based on our new class text, Street Child. 

Week Beginning 7th December:

During the next two weeks the Literacy focus is a persuasive writing unit based on school uniform. 

Week Beginning 30th November:

This week's Literacy is a poetry focus based on The Listeners by Walter de la Mare. 

Week Beginning 23rd November:

This week's Literacy is a reading focus based on the World War Two book, Goodnight Mister Tom. 

Week Beginning 16th November:

This week's Literacy is the next five lessons based on persuasive writing using the text, The Day the Crayons quit. (Lessons 11-15)

Week Beginning 9th November:

This week's Literacy is the next five lessons based on persuasive writing using the text, The Day the Crayons quit. (Lessons 6-10)

This week's Literacy is a reading focus based on the book Demon Dentist by David Walliams. There are five lessons for the week.

This week's Literacy is a grammar focus based on different sentence types, determiners, expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials and pronouns. There are five lessons for the week.
