Monday 4th January

Today in Nursery we are doing some flat painting (painting at a table rather than an easel). This encourages children to use different muscles and think about making marks in a different way. You can encourage your child to talk about their picture as they paint and see if they can explain any ideas they have about their picture. You can even have a go yourself and show your child how you might think about what you are going to paint before you put brush to paper. Please upload your finished pictures to your child's Learning Book.

Here are some developmental points to consider depending on the age of your child-

22-36 months Children begin to say things like 'That's me' when they are mark making

30-50 months Children begin to explore how colours can be changed

40- 60 months- Children begin to explore how colours can be changed and manipulate materials to achieve a planned effect
