Dear Parents/Carers
The school has received directive from Cabinet Member for Education Jonathan Price and
Richard Harling Director for Health and Care regarding Covid-19 symptoms and when to get tested.
Currently anyone who has one of the main symptoms of persistent cough, high temperature, new cough or loss of taste or smell must self-isolate immediately and book a test. This will remain the case.
However, advice around when to get a test has been expanded as many people are displaying other symptoms. The council are now asking residents in Staffordshire to get tested as a precaution if they have other symptoms such as:
**People with any of these symptoms can carry on going to school or work if they are well enough to do so and only need to self-isolate if the test comes back positive.**
Therefore, moving forward, the school will ask you to please get your child tested if they present with any of the listed symptoms listed above. Please note the symptoms that you will and will not have to self isolate for.
To be accepted for a test when presenting with one of the above symptoms where self-isolation isn't necessary please visit the NHS website https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test and check the ‘My council has asked me to get a test’ option.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Mr Compton
