Re: Catching Up – Government Funding
Our focus over the last month has been to nurture your child’s return to school and to determine if there are any gaps in the curriculum that need to be closed due to the school closure last term. The children have now competed a full month back and are well and truly in the swing of learning and making up for lost time.
There is now a Government funded programme in schools, designed to help children to catch-up due to being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The children have completed their assessments of the previous year’s curriculum and we are able to see which children will require additional support in each area of the curriculum.
Where gaps in children’s learning have been identified, those parents will be contacted directly with information on what is being put in place at school to allow their child to catch-up. Your children’s progress, attainment and wellbeing is at the heart of all we do. We aim to offer the best education we can for all of Parkside and will make good use of the Catch-Up Funding to help children to close any gaps. As always, we appreciate your continued support.
We will share your child’s assessments with you during your parents evening appointment which will be held remotely during the week of 19th October. Further information about Parent /Teacher appointment times will be sent out shortly.
