Daily Numeracy Activities

This week we will be carrying on with our Oak National Academy learning. Year Four will be focussed on continuing our measures learning through money, weight and length and Year Three will be focused on 2D shapes.

Hello Warriors,

This weeks home learning for Maths will be slightly different, we will be using the fantastic online learning resource from the Oak National Academy. I have attached a short introductory video explaining how to access the online resource. I will be setting a lesson each day through a web link on our class maths page below.  

This week the Year Three focus will be angles.

The Year Four focus will be solving measure.

By Friday, I would like your child to be able to divide using column division.

 

Year Three children will be dividing 2 digit by 1 digit numbers.

Year Four children will be dividing 3 digit by 1 digit numbers.

Friday 15th May - Addition and Subtraction activities for Year Three and Year Four Children

Wednesday 13th May - Column Subtraction: Year Three Children are using an ocean themed activity using 3 digit numbers with exchange.

Wednesday 13th May - Agent OORP needs the help of the Year Four children with subtracting 4 digit numbers with exchange!

Monday 11th May - 3 digit column subtraction with no exchange (Year Three Children)

Monday 11th May - 4 digit column subtraction with no exchange (Year Four Children)

By Thursday, as Friday is VE Day bank holiday, I would like your child to be able to add using column addition with exchange. 

Year Three children will be adding with 3 digit numbers.

Tuesday 5th May - Column Addition: Year Three children are using a spaced themed activity using 3 digit numbers with exchange.

Tuesday 5th May - Column Addition: Year Four children are using an archery themed activity using 4 digit numbers with exchange.

For our maths journey by Friday I would like y3 and y4 children to be able to add using column addition with no exchange. The y3 children will be adding 3 digit numbers and the y4 children will be adding 4 digit numbers. There will be videos to help support this.

Column addition / Compact method using concrete resources

Learn how to a concrete method to help you understand compact method of column addition, first without carrying, then with carrying. You can use lots of other things too, or draw out the Base10 like we do at school.
