Week Beginning Monday 15th June 2020

Our new science topic is electrifying! We're going to be learning about electricity! This is a Year 5/6 unit that will require you to think about what you learned in Year 4. We will recap and build on our knowledge and understanding of electricity. There will be a variety of resources for you to pick and choose from, including worksheets, quizzes, online activities and videos. The beauty of being at home means that you can access your learning whenever you feel like it and can research websites independently. The one restricting factor is not having the practical resources to carry out experiments. However, there is still plenty of opportunity for some quality learning to take place!

Test your prior knowledge with a quick quiz! Work through or think about the activity sheet then choose which reading comprehension level you'd like to complete.

Circuits and symbols - Here you can develop your knowledge of circuits and symbols. There are a few activities to choose from. If you want to and are able to, you could print the memory cards, arrange them face down, and challenge yourself to correctly name as many of them as you can!

Linking on from our work on lifecycles, talk to an adult about what you can remember (or write down some notes!) Watch the video to find out a bit more as well as looking through the various posters. Is there a particular lifecycle that you are most interested in? Could you present information about your chosen lifecycle in a creative way? Maybe there is a different lifecycle that you would like to research about and then present your findings?!
