Summer Term

Please log on to the schools new Facebook page for up-to-date photos of the childrens' learning throughout the term!

Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome back! We hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing Easter holiday and feel ready to embrace the new term together. Both Miss Mitchell & I are really looking forward to working with you and your children again, witnessing new adventures and achievements.

Keeping in mind our school motto of ‘Care to Learn and Learn to Care’, we would like to thank you in advance for your help and continued support.

As we continue to encourage a ‘love of reading’ and offer numerous opportunities for the children to read a broad range of books inside school, it is still vital children read at home and evidence is recorded in their homework diaries. We will be continuing with our raffle tickets when the children read at least 4 times a week. Children who do read at least 4 times, are then picked out from the raffle and have the chance to win a dip in golden box. Homework diaries will be checked every week, on a Friday, to ensure they are being used effectively and daily. Raffle tickets will be awarded to children who do so.

Spellings are to be practised every night ready for a spelling dictation every Friday. Children will be rewarded for consistently high marks in their spelling dictation or improvement in their marks. Please record practise done at home in spelling books so we can see how much the children are practising in addition to practise carried out in school.

This term we will be completing the 'Multiplication check' and are multiplication tables are something we will be continuing to practice daily.

Homework will still be set and sent home every Thursday. Please can this be returned by the following Tuesday.
