Today in Nursery we will be talking about all the snow we had and our experiences with it. This maybe your child's first time they can recall snow so it is a great time to chat with them about it. Do you have any pictures of them in the snow that you can show them? This a great opportunity to help them understand this aspect of winter and help develop their vocabulary by using winter words such as snow, ice, cold ,freeze, sparkly, slippery, snowballs, etc. Then you and your child can make a snowman from your choice of materials, we have attached some ideas below. Please take pictures and upload them to your child's Learning Book.
Here are some developmental steps for you to use as a rough guide depending on your child's age in months:
22-36-notices detailed features in their environment
30-50 months- talks about why things happen in the world and how things work
40-60 months-looks closely at change
