What a busy first week back we have had! The children have made a tremendous start to Year 4 and we have got stuck into our learning journey together. Today we were awarded 'Class of the Week' so we are all looking forward to our chocolate cake! Well deserved by all of Year 4. What a start to the year! Keep it up Year 4!
Monday 21st September 2015 - Topic Launch Day
Today was our topic launch day and the children enjoyed a day all about World War II.
Something very exciting happened first thing.....
Just after register, Mr Compton appeared at our classroom door with a very dirty looking bag! He explained to us that the builders had found it at the weekend when they were digging some of the ground up. We were very intrigued what it was! The children opened it and we discovered lots of evacuee items and WWII items such as: a gas mask, suitcase, a letter home and much more! We explored all of the items and had a discussion about them, where we thought it had all come from and how long we thought it had been buried for. A very interesting discovery!
Also, as part of our launch, we have made carrot cookies, spitfires, gas mask boxes and explored on the laptops. An informative and enjoyable day had by all.
Please take the time to look through our photos in our 'Gallery.'
