Updates on our learning...

January 2016

Welcome back! We would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and take this time to thank you for your continued support so far this academic year. We are very much looking forward to working with you and your children again this term. We hope you have had a restful and enjoyable Christmas break and feel ready to embrace the Spring Term.

Please take the time to read the curriculum information in the relevant folder to find out where our 'Parkside Adventure' is taking us this term...

Friday 8th January 2016

Yesterday, the school received news that a monkey had escaped from Rodbaston College and was seen in the Parkside area.

Today, our classroom was trashed!!

The children came in from play to find: monkey nuts everywhere, chairs turned upside down, books on the floor, bananas everywhere, displays ruined,

footprints on the tables, scratches on the carpet and much more! We could not believe our eyes!

Following this, the children decided what to do. They thought we should go and have a walk around the school to see if we could find him. We didn't succeed. They then decided they wanted to make 'wanted' posters for the Parkside community to keep their eyes open, so they did.

The children are very excited and intrigued about this monkey! Please keep your eyes peeled!

This afternoon, we completed some African art for our topic launch. What perfect timing for the monkey to come as we begin our African Adventure...

Tuesday 26th January 2016

Year 4 have been working really hard this half term and we cannot believe we are already half way through it! Children are focused on their learning and this is shining through in their books. I am very proud of them!

Can I remind you that our 'Parent Project' for this term will be held on Monday 22nd February 2016 (first day back after half term) and the theme is 'African Masks.' School will provide you with a template mask but please bring in any specific materials for your own masks. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thursday 11th February 2016

I cannot believe we are almost at the end of the first Spring half term! The children have worked incredibly hard this half term and we have really got stuck into our curriculum. We hope you have a restful and enjoyable half term break and we look forward to seeing you back shortly, ready for 'Parent Project' on the first Monday back.

Monday 22nd February 2016

Welcome back! We hope you had a restful half term and feel ready to embrace this half term!

Thank you parents for attending our 'Parent Project' today. The African masks look incredible and it was lovely to work with you and your children. We have displayed them in the classroom as part of our topic display.

Please take the time to look through the pictures in our photo gallery...

Thank you to everybody for the effort you went to with Year 4's costumes today. They all looked amazing and we have enjoyed a day linked completely to books.
