Wednesday 10th March

Warm up

Today we are looking at numbers 9 and 10. Can you jump 9 times? Can you run for 10 counts?

What other exercises could you do?

Can you show me 9 fingers? Show me 10 fingers.

Can you have a look around your house and find 9 objects? 10 objects?

Can you count them in a straight line? What about in a messy pile?

Have a look at the pictures below. What do you notice? (9 is less than 10, 10 is 1 more than 9 etc)

Game to consolidate

Using your phonics mat and tricky word mat, can you write these  simple sentences?

Remember to listen out for each sound and use your robot arms to help you segment the sounds if you need to.

Look at the chair.

That is my sheep.

He is in the boat.

She is to be the queen.

His beard is long.

Afternoon Focus

Grab some objects from around your house and use them to create a story. Please use the vocabulary highlighted in Yellow.

E.g toy horse, hat, cake dragon.

Once upon a time there was a horse called Oliver. He lived in the woods with his friends. One Sunny day it was Oliver's birthday. His friends bought a cake and a gift. Oliver opened the present.  'A new hat!' He exclaimed. He loved his new hat and put it on his head. Unfortunately, the evil dragon came and stole the hat! Luckily, Oliver had his friends around him and they managed to take the hat back and scare the dragon away with a loud roar! They all lived happily ever after... 4 leaf clover my story is over.
