Let's warm up our maths brains!
Give the your child an item, for example, an apple. Challenge them to find things which feel heavier and lighter than the apple and sort them into 2 groups- 1 heavier than an apple and 1 lighter than an apple.
Use their human balance scales to check their estimation.
Find three objects from around the house. Can you place them in order from the heaviest to the lightest.
Remember to use the vocabulary heaviest, heavier, heavy, lightest, lighter and light.
Can you find something that is larger than an apple but is lighter than it?
Can you find 2 objects that way the same?
We will be working towards writing a character description in this next literacy unit.
Let's get our literacy brains working first!
After this please watch the video below to draw your own fish.
Can you now research some fish and find out what the different parts of a fish are called?
Remember to have a go at using the mouse and navigating the computer yourself.
Can you label your fish with the relevant parts using your phonics sounds?
Please see your child's Google Classroom for their phonics video.
This afternoon we are learning about the ocean and the seas. Can you create a poster of pictures and some facts you have learnt once you have watched this video.
