Today in Nursery we are looking at the language of size. We will be using words such as 'tall taller small smaller, short shorter shortest, higher high highest, middle etc. In Nursery we try to help the children understand that something can only be the tallest until something even taller comes along and then it becomes shorter (if that makes sense) Can you have a go at making some towers with bricks and see if you can make them different sizes and them compare them.
There is also a little game here for you to have a go at.
Here are some developmental steps for you to use as a guide depending on your child's age in months:
22-36 months- Begins to use the language of size.
30-50 months-Beginning to talk about the shapes of everyday objects, e.g. ‘round’ and ‘tall’.
40-60 months- Orders two or three items by length or height.
