Year 1

Welcome to Y1

‘We Believe We Can Achieve’

Welcome back after the Summer break! Myself, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Johnson are very much looking forward to working with your child this year. We feel strongly that learning is a partnership between all parties; children, families and school and is at its most effective when we work together towards common goals.

This is an exciting year with the new changes that have taken place within the KS1 class structure. Year One is the beginning of the journey through KS1. The children will see some changes to the structure of the school day but we feel that the children are now ready to take on and embrace any new challenges. We will be encouraging the children to be more independent, both in their learning and socially.

The KS1 curriculum gives the school the opportunity to teach more specifically to the needs of the children and make their learning interesting and exciting, ensuring that the children are able to experience real life opportunities as much as possible.

The class pages on the school website will be updated on a weekly basis so you are able to follow your child’s journey through year one.

We look forward to working with you and your child over the next year - please remember that my door is always open if you wish to come in to discuss anything specific about your child.
