Welcome to Totally Terrific Threes!
Yesterday Year 3 went on their trip to Doxey Marshes and what a fantastic morning we had! The sun was shining, the children were a credit to the school and some brilliant learning took place. They were involved in a range of activities such as: sketching, taking photos, observing the plants and pond dipping, where we found a range of different pondlife. A fantatic morning had by all. Please take a look at the photos attached.

Today we launched our new summer term topic 'Looking Closely.' The children have had a fantastic day 'Preparing for Invasion.' They have worked in teams to make huge models of Viking longboats and made their own helmets. A very creative day which has ultimately inspired the children to find out and learn more! Please find photos attached at the bottom of the page.

May I take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support throughout the Spring term. It was an extremely busy yet positive and rewarding term, with children moving forward in their learning ready to reach their end of year levels.
It all began with Year 3 boarding a flight to Egypt on our topic launch day and ended with our very own Egyptian banquet in celebration of all of our brilliant learning. The children looked absolutely fantastic and may I thank parents again for the effort that went into creating those fabulous outfits!
I hope you all had a lovely and restful Easter break and feel ready to embrace a new term. I look forward to what this term brings keeping in mind our school motto of, 'Care to learn and learn to care.'
Please find attached in 'Documents' the summer term letter for you to have a read through to find out what we will be learning about this term.
Thanks again for your continued support,
Miss Pilling & Miss Padgham
Thursday 10th April 2014 ~ Egyptian Banquet Day!
Today Year 3 were invited to an Egyptian Banquet dressed as Pharaoh's and Egyptian Queen's. What an absolutely fantastic day we have had! The children have decorated their own bookmark in hieroglyphics, designed their own death masks, made some Egyptian jewellery and designed their own Egyptian dances. May I take the time to thank parents for the effort put into the costumes and express what a truly fabulous finish it has been to our 'Walk Like An Egyptian' topic. Please see attached photos below.
Friday 7th March 2014 - World Book Day.
Yesterday it was World Book Day and all the children in year three dressed up. We had Harry Potter, Matilda, Sophie from the BFG, Little Red Riding Hood and many more fantastic costumes. Thank you to all parents for helping to create those tremendous outfits! It was a very exciting day for all with decorating a new library card and decorating our classroom door. Please take a look at the photos at the bottom of the page to see for yourself what a wonderful day it really was!

Today we have launched our new topic 'Walk like an Egyptian.' The children had a fantastic day boarding an aeroplane and flying to Egypt! When we arrived there we found a letter addressed to us. It was from an archaeologist called Anthony Fulford and he set year 3 a challenge for this term to find out about Ancient Egypt and what life was like for Tutankhamen. If they complete all of the challenges set they will be awarded with a banquet in an Egyptian palace. Year 3 also made some Egyptian jewellery and clay canopic jars. A very exciting and creative day! We are all looking forward to the rest of this topic.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year. What an exciting, engaging and successful last term we had! I strongly believe this term will be just as exhilarating for the children with a focus on Ancient Egypt for our topic and Iron Man for our class text. Please see attached in 'Documents' the spring term letter for you to have a read through and find out all about what we will be learning. I look forward to working with you and your children throughout this next term and as always, thank you for your continued support.
I am passionate about education and learning and strongly believe the best education can only happen when school, parents and children all work together as one. I am excited about the journey we will take through Y3 and working together to ensure your children reach their full potential. I am committed to providing the very best opportunities to enable them to do so, but I very much value and appreciate your help and support too. Therefore, I have attached an overview of what we will be covering in the autumn term. I have also included ideas of what you can do to support and consolidate your child’s learning at home. This home support is vital to benefit your child’s learning and I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support.
I will keep this page updated regularly this term to show you all the fantastic learning going on in school.
