Welcome to Year Five!
We are really looking forward to working with you during the next academic year. Year Five is such an exciting and important year as it is part of upper key stage 2. The experiences that you child will have this year will enable them to grow in confidence as they learn new skills, concepts and teamwork - especially at Standon Bowers.
Learning is a partnership between children, family and school and is most effective when we work together. We believe passionately about learning and will ensure that the classroom reflects the ethos of the school motto, ' Care to learn and learn to care.'
Below we have included three subheadings based on the three terms that your child will be in Year Five. In each you will find as each term progresses, information about the learning that your child will be doing as well as descriptions and recounts of what the children did with photographs as well as any other important information.
If you click on the subheading which says Autumn Term 2016, you will find my welcome letter with the Autumn term curriculum Information. This tells you what the children will be learning as well as the expectations with homework.
During the school year, please look out for your child's work and any photographs as well as any important information. Also please look at the recommended reading books which is a list of ten books recommended by last year's class.
Once again, we are looking forward to working with you and if you wish to come and see us, our door is always open.
