Year 3 and Year 4 had the wonderful opportunity to welcome a special visitor into school today to enrich their History learning. Mrs Downes, who previously worked at Lotus Shoes, shared her first-hand experiences of working in the factory. Mrs Downes explained her role in the "Closing Room," where she carefully added decorative details such as flowers and bows to ladies' shoes before they were sent to the finishing room for soles to be attached. She worked at Lotus Shoes for five years and spoke warmly about her time there, even bringing in a pair of shoes for the children to see - much to their fascination! The children had prepared thoughtful and insightful questions, showing great curiosity and engagement. They were particularly interested to learn that it could take a couple of days to produce a single pair of shoes and they were intrigued to find the reasons behind the factory's closure. This visit perfectly complemented their study of Stafford's history. Pupils have been learning how Stafford has developed over time - from its origins as a safe river crossing to the busy town we know today. The children represented the school brilliantly with their manners, enthusiasm and excellent questioning. Thank you, Mrs Downes. #proudtobeparkside

Year 5 have been thoroughly enjoying their dance lessons with Miss Beth on a Tuesday afternoon... The energy, enthusiasm and engagement they bring to every session has been fantastic to see so far. From the very first warm-up to the final performance, the children have shown real commitment and excitement. They have thrown themselves into each routine with confidence and creativity. We've been so impressed with how quickly they've picked up choreography, worked together as a team and expressed themselves through movement. Well done, Year 5! Keep dancing! #proudtobeparkside

Today, we had the absolute delight of delivering a special delivery to our Reception 2026 cohort on Offer Day! Mrs Jones, Mrs Salter and Mrs Dennett visited every house with a book, a bookmark and a special golden ticket. We cannot wait to see the children begin their school journey with us as we welcome them to our Parkside family. Here's to the start of something wonderful! #proudtobeparkside
